MISSIONS

For CFUMC, missions are not about where we go - MISSIONS IS WHO WE ARE. Our members would say we are passionate about our mission in the world for Jesus Christ. Every week we are about feeding the hungry, clothing those in need, helping people in crisis, making repairs for the disabled, financing a cure for cancer, and supporting missionaries worldwide. We do it all in the name of Jesus because He first loved us. Come and join in the fun because this is a place where you can make a difference.

SATURDAY SACKS

Each Thursday at 1 p.m., members of our church along with people from the community come together in the Fincher Family Life Center gym to put together sacks of snacks for children in need in Murray County Elementary Schools. The sacks are sent home with the children on Friday to sustain them on weekends. Youth are welcome! This year, thousands of sacks were shared.

KING'S CLOTHESLINE

The King's Clothesline is open by appointment all year long and is housed within CFUMC. Four times a year, we also have a huge clothing giveaway that is staffed by volunteers with loving hearts. This year 494 people were served. Call CFUMC at 706-696-3211 for an individual appointment.

SUMMER LUNCH PROGRAM

When schools are not in session, CFUMC makes sure that children do not go hungry. Our volunteers serve sack lunches on weekdays and share a message of hope. Volunteers are needed to serve and interact with the children from June through August each year. This is another good opportunity for Youth to serve.

RELAY FOR LIFE

At CFUMC we have our own RELAY FOR LIFE team. This year we raised $3,720 for the American Cancer Society while blessing those who have survived cancer along with their caregivers. Being a part of this team is a lot of fun, and we invite you to honor those who have been lost to cancer, who are battling cancer or have survived cancer. You can do a lot with your prayers, your gifts, and your time within this team.

MURRAY COUNTY COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS

Of course, we are a part of bringing Christmas to children in our community. Volunteers serve at the store that is open to parents to shop for their children. Parents are also offered classes in nutrition, G.E.D. preparation, Internet safety, CPR, preventing child abuse, and much more. Community Christmas preparation begins in September of each year. Please contact Beththornbury@gmail.com for more information.

NEXT STEP

This local not-for-profit provides support to Murray County families in crisis - demonstrating love through action. CFUMC is just one of many churches and community businesses and organizations that support Murray County residents that are in crisis. Support provided may include prayer, financial assistance, food, and/or a referral to another agency that can meet their needs.

UNITED METHODIST CHILDREN'S HOME

CFUMC supports the UM Children's Home with an offering given in worship. Giving enables the home to recruit and train new foster parents as well as to feed, clothe, house, and educate children and teens entrusted to their care. They also provide transitional housing and support for homeless families. Volunteer opportunities include becoming a foster parent and helping out at their bi-annual flea market in Decatur, Georgia.

WESLEY WOODS SENIOR LIVING

For 60 years Wesley Woods has been making the retirement experience fulfilling for older adults of all income levels, races and faiths. CFUMC gives a special Mother's Day offering and other gifts throughout the year to offer seniors in need a place that they may age with grace. For more information go to: www.wesleywoods.org.
