For CFMC, missions are not about where we go - MISSIONS IS WHO WE ARE. Our members would say we are passionate about our mission in the world for Jesus Christ. Every week we are about feeding the hungry, clothing those in need, helping people in crisis, making repairs for the disabled, financing a cure for cancer, and supporting missionaries worldwide. We do it all in the name of Jesus because He first loved us. Come and join in the fun because this is a place where you can make a difference.

The mission team from our church went to Belize October 18-25. We were hosted by Pastor Charles Mulemena, who we have partnered with and supported for several years. While in Believe we met Pastor Charles’s family, visited the schools operated by the 2 churches Pastor Charles serves as pastor, did Bible school in 2 communities, tiled the cement floor and painted the exterior of 1 church, and attended worship services at both churches. We were blessed by our interactions with the people of Belize, especially the children. We were able to put faces and stories to the needs, both physical and spiritual. There is great need to provide money for children who do not eat lunch because their family cannot afford it. There is great need to share the Gospel with the people in Belize. There is great need to support Pastor Charles and his family in the important work they are doing to minister there. I invite you and encourage you to give financially toward these needs. Donations can be made out to the church with a note indicating what need it is for.

Each Thursday at 1 p.m., members of our church along with people from the community come together in the Fincher Family Life Center gym to put together sacks of snacks for children in need in Murray County Elementary Schools. The sacks are sent home with the children on Friday to sustain them on weekends. Youth are welcome! This year, thousands of sacks were shared.

The King's Clothesline is open by appointment all year long and is housed within CFUMC. Four times a year, we also have a huge clothing giveaway that is staffed by volunteers with loving hearts. This year 494 people were served. Call CFUMC at 706-696-3211 for an individual appointment.

When schools are not in session, CFUMC makes sure that children do not go hungry. Our volunteers serve sack lunches on weekdays and share a message of hope. Volunteers are needed to serve and interact with the children from June through August each year. This is another good opportunity for Youth to serve.

At CFUMC we have our own RELAY FOR LIFE team. This year we raised $3,720 for the American Cancer Society while blessing those who have survived cancer along with their caregivers. Being a part of this team is a lot of fun, and we invite you to honor those who have been lost to cancer, who are battling cancer or have survived cancer. You can do a lot with your prayers, your gifts, and your time within this team.

Of course, we are a part of bringing Christmas to children in our community. Volunteers serve at the store that is open to parents to shop for their children. Parents are also offered classes in nutrition, G.E.D. preparation, Internet safety, CPR, preventing child abuse, and much more. Community Christmas preparation begins in September of each year. Please contact Beththornbury@gmail.com for more information.

This local not-for-profit provides support to Murray County families in crisis - demonstrating love through action. CFUMC is just one of many churches and community businesses and organizations that support Murray County residents that are in crisis. Support provided may include prayer, financial assistance, food, and/or a referral to another agency that can meet their needs.

Pastor Charles Mulemena visit May 2023

During the time that we spent with Pastor Charles in October, 2015, he became like family to us. CFUMC happily supports General Board of Global Ministries missionaries, the Mulemena Family, as they leave their home in Zambia, Africa to serve to Brazil. Pastor Charles is a United Methodist Pastor who will be doing ecumenical ministry in Brazil. Donations have been given through Charles to fund a scholarship in Zambia, Africa. CFUMC was the first U.S. church to support the Mulemenas in their new mission. To contact Pastor Charles via email: cmulemena@umcmission.org. To give, go to www.umcmission.org and use Advance #3022034.

We were blessed with a visit in December 2015 from Elliott Stotler, a missionary from The Mission Society, serving in Port Edward, South Africa. The Stotlers have a Small Business Program and a Children's Enrichment Program as well as a Youth Camp. These programs physically, mentally, and spiritually touch the lives of those who need to know Jesus Christ in South Africa. To contact them by email go to:  stotlersinafrica@gmail.com or www.themissionsociety.org/people/stotler for links to online giving by credit card or bank draft or to download a mail-in form.

You have probably heard about the deep troubles in Venezuela on the news. We are proud to support Venezuela Now as they provide a seminary for native pastors, a children's home, and a medical clinic in a place closed to most of the world. For more information contact warrenlathem@gmail.com. All donations are sent to Venezuela Now, Inc., P.O. Box 1655, Duluth, GA 30096.

We sent Bill Silvers with a mission team to Belize October 18-25, 2022. The team had representatives from 4 churches. While there, the team helped with a roof repair, interior, and exterior painting of a church building, participated in the church's school's morning devotion, participated in Sunday morning worship, and led a Vacation Bible School. Please see the church's Facebook page for pictures and a video slideshow.
